Medical transcriptionists work in a variety of settings, including medical clinics, doctor's offices, hospitals, private transcription businesses and home offices. There is a critical shortage of qualified medical transcriptionists nationwide, and they are always in demand.

Getting Started

You must satisfactorily complete a curriculum including courses in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology, laboratory procedures, medical transcription practices, professionalism, human diseases, surgical procedures and machine transcription of authentic physician-dictated reports in a variety of medical and surgical specialties and diagnostic studies.  Mountain State College's Medical Transcriptionist program will get you there!

Mountain State College maintains a Career Services Office. The Director of Career Services assists all students in their job search.
